Furnace Performance Audits
Furnace Profiling: First Level Audits
First Level Audits are 3 or 5 day furnace process gas
composition, temperature, and time profiling, complete with a
formalized report of the data collected.
ARI schedules a time to visit your site with monitoring
equipment. Fittings are installed on the furnace to attach up to
four 1/8” stainless steel sample gas tubing lines that are connected
to the Laser Gas Analyzer. Other sampling connections may also be
installed for temperature and pressure monitoring.
The furnace is then operated through normal process cycles to
collect operational baseline data.
The data include furnace gas composition for as many runs that
can be completed in the contracted time. The gases measured are CO,
H2O, NH3, O2, N2, CO2, H2, and CxHy. The accuracy for these
measurements is typically less than .25% of full scale.
Process data are provided in a written report and in eletornic
spreadsheets. No analysis of the data is provided.
At the end of the test, ARI removes the monitoring system and
caps the sensor ports in the furnace.
Furnace Profiling: Second Level Audits
Second Level Audits are 5 or 7 day furnace process gas
composition, temperature, and time profiling, complete with a
formalized report of the data collected. The report includes
analysis of the data and recommendations for actions.
ARI schedules a time to visit a customer site with the monitoring
ARI then provides an in depth analysis of the results based on
extensive experience with monitoring metal treating furnace
processes. ARI meets with the customer to review the findings and
make recommendations for process improvements. The results and
recommendations will be included in a formal report.
At the end of the test, ARI removes the monitoring system and
caps the sensor ports in the furnace.
